Who Should Attend?


Weather enthusiasts, Storm Spotters, Storm Chasers, Ham radio operators, Fire, Police, Radio dispatchers, Educators, Emergency Managers, EMS, Photographers, Meteorology students, Campers, Outdoor folks and workers, Utility crews, Public safety personnel, Security workers, Teachers, Truckers, Drivers, Transportation, Boaters, Highway construction crews. Anyone affected by the weather.



9:00 AM to 11:00 AM - Storm Spotter Training


Official National Weather Service storm spotter training. Tim Halbach, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the Milwaukee-Sullivan National Weather Service office will present a brand new program ideal for the beginner or someone seeking a refresher. A 10 minute break is scheduled midway thru the class.

Training Certificates
After the class a Milwaukee Skywarn rep will then issue training certificates to those in attendance who have previously requested a certificate. (Deadline to be determined.)

 

12 Noon to 4:00 PM - Guest Speakers

Location and Maps
4800 South 60 Street is the city of Greenfield on Milwaukee County's near southside. The I-43 freeway, exit #7, is just two blocks north of the school parking lot.  Also within the two block area is 24 hour gas station, a Sub shop, and  Bar & Grille. THE MILWAUKEE AREA SKYWARN ASSOCIATION is a 1995 Wisconsin registered non-profit corporation and is I-R-S 501(c)3 tax exempt operated for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. Our mission is to lessen the burden of the National Weather Service (NWS) severe weather and Skywarn programs by promoting the identification, evaluation, and reporting of dangerous weather. Our awareness and educational outreach is provided to all  individuals, institutions, volunteer,  public safety and other served agencies requesting our resources. We provide (1) public speaking programs, (2) educational seminars, (3) handouts, (4) newsletters, flyers, (5) two-way radio services, (6) internet and social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Zello), and (7) local, regional, and national E-mail lists.
